"We got a complete confession from the two guys who assaulted you, we have
them under arrest if you want to press charges, and, as if that isn't
enough. We picked up the guys who beat on Mark. Didn't think we had much
of a case there but as we were leaving with them, two witnesses came
forward and supplied details only we knew. If Mark hadn't suddenly got his
nerve back, we wouldn't have been so lucky."
"Congratulations big guy." Red jumped up and hugged the big cop. He held
on for a long time as Vic hugged him back. "I feel like a burden had been
lifted from my shoulders."
"Well, yeah, maybe but it's rubbing against my thigh. I realize this is
good news but wow Red." Red looked down at his bulging jeans."
"I gotta meet Darrell and Ron, love ya Vic, thanks for all your hard work.
I'll thank you better later. Time for lunch." Red sprinted out the door.
Vic and Dell watched Red jump into this car and head out of the parking
lot. Vic laughed and smiled at Dell.
"My money says they never get to eat lunch."
